Description
This historic water tower stands guard on along a bluff of the Guadalupe River in Gruene, Texas. The original tower in the town was made of cypress wood, but was destroyed by a fire in 1922, along with the cotton gin which provided the main revenue for the town. The current tower is made of steel and stands 100 feet tall. In the 1970's, they tried to dismantle the tower for scrap metal, but it was saved in time. It is an important landmark and a historic symbol of Gruene, Texas. This image has the water tower surrounded by a creative lens glare of the sun.
