Description
Hundreds of hotels, apartments, and other buildings were built on South beach, Miami in the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's. Many of these structures were torn down, but The Hotel Shelly survived. This historic boutique hotel was built in 1936. The bright lavender and cream-colored facade reflects its art deco architecture. The style shows in its symmetry, the strong vertical and horizontal lines, the design repetition, and with the embellished panels. It also shows in the modern topography of its name. The hotel was renovated in 2005 and caters to South Beach tourists on a budget.
