Description
This is Huntington Beach California, also affectionately called "Surf City USA. There are several reasons why I love this image, First, there is the repetition of the lifeguard towers, the garbage cans, and the truck tracks in the sand. Also notice, that the lifeguard towers are even numbered (the odd numbers are on the other side of the Huntington Beach Pier). Then there is the style of number 2, it mimics the red-roofed Ruby's Diner at the end of the pier. Last, there are these interesting piles of sand in front of the towers. My daughter, (a lifeguard), tells me that they are used to break the fall of the guards in case of an emergency. It takes to long to climb down the ladder, so they just jump over the railing!
