Description
This nutcracker actually has a kiss imprinted on his cheek. I don't know if he was made that way or if a passing woman kissed him! The nutcracker soldier got his start in German folklore. The wooden keepsakes were meant to bring good luck and to provide protection for the home. The soldier himself, represents power and strength. With his big mouth, he bares his teeth to ward off evil spirits. The whimsical and charming carvings became popular following Tchackovsky's Nutcracker Suite ballet in 1892. They have come a popular part of holiday decor Christmas.
