Description
Tle Lost Weekend Bar is located on Espinosa Way in South Beach, Miami. The bar/pool hall just celebrated its 20th anniversary. It got its name from the 1945 Billy Widler movie, staring Jane Wyman and Ray Milland. The dark movie was about an alcoholic writer, and was nominated for 7 academy awards. The bar is also rumored to have been owned by Mickey Rourke in the 1990's. It was called "The Spot" or maybe just "Mickey's at the time. (its hard to tell from the information found) However, Micky may have only lent his name to the establishment instead of owning it. It was a place where celebrities gathered. The sign itself is neon. It depicts a green planet with a yellow ring surrounding it. The old sign is weathered at the top where the paint has worn off, but you can still read words spelled out in the tubes of the neon light.
