Description
There are hundreds of islands in the archipelago called the San Juan Islands, many are not named and can not be seen at high tide. The islands are located in the northwest corner of the United States. They are rocky for the most part, and some are covered with Madrone Trees. These trees have red-orange colored bark which peels away in sheets. They are drought tolerant plants, but are only found in the coastal areas of North America from British Columbia to California.
