Wooden replicas of storks can be found on the rooftops all over Solvang, California. In Denmark they celebrate the arrival of summer and represent good luck and protection of a household. The people of Denmark actually tried to attract the birds by providing nesting materials. Now the birds are almost extinct, however, these fun handcrafted wooden ones are a fun tradition in the Danish village.
