A Brown Pelican, sitting on the Pismo Pier, welcomes visitors to Pismo Beach, California. The beach community is a popular destination for tourists. It has wide sandy beaches for walking and playing, sand vollyball courts, and good waves for surfers. In this image, you can see how the houses have begun to creep up the coastal hills. Brown Pelicans have been saved from extinction, and have been removed from the endangered list.
