The Contemporary Jones Art Center in downtown Austin is just a few blocks away from the state capitol of Texas. This building sports giant 7 foot high words taken from the United States Pledge of Allegiance.- With Liberty and Justice For All. The words are a symbol of American democracy, national pride, and patriotism. The reflective and iridescent letters were designed by artist Jim Hedges. They were completed and installed on the roof in 2014, spanning two sides of the building. The text is lit up at night.
