Description
San Luis Wildlife Refuge was established in 1929 in the San Joaquin Valley near Los Banos, California. Its purpose was to provide a natural haven for waterfowl. The refuge has about 6,500 acres of lakes, marshes, woodlands, and grasslands. The area attracts all different kinds of wildlife besides the birds. This image was taken just as the sun was setting over the marsh. In the shadows, you can see a large flock of White Snow Geese and Ross's Geese settling down for the night. In the foreground are some Black-necked Stilts foraging in the water.
This image has some added texture.
