Pomona was the Goddess of abundance in Roman mythology. She watched over the cultivation of gardens and orchards. She is often depicted with a basket or cornucopia of fruit. This fountain, called the Pulitzer Memorial Fountain, was designed by Karl Bitter in 1916. It can be found in Grand Army Plaza in Central Park South. This image was taken in spring against a background of white blossoms.
