Description
A classical arch, Corinthian columns, and Roman sculptural reliefs frame the entrance to the Manhattan Municipal Building, or simply called the Muni Building. However, the proper name of this historic New York skyscraper is the David N. Dinkins Manhattan Municipal Building, which honors a former mayor. The Italian Renaissance Style building was built between 1909-1914 in an effort to consolidate the services all of the city's boroughs into one place. It is one the largest government buildings in the world, with one million square feet of office space and over 3,000 employees. The structure itself has 25 floors in the main building and another 15 stores in the tower which is topped by a sculpture called "Civic Fame." I think the details of this amazing building show best in black and white. The image also has some added texture.
